What is Enterprise IOT ?
There is a big difference between a smart-home and an enterprise. In a smart-home, the sensors are typically non-critical, 'cheap' and connected to a smart-home hub. The focus is on convenience and 'fun' - turn the lights in the kitchen on or a simple air quality sensor showing results on your phone.
An enterprise is a whole different world. If you have a water leak sensor on the 10th floor of a hotel and someone leaves the water running, you absolutely want to know that the sensor is working and that it will be able to communicate and generate the critical alert. Similarly, if you have fire extinguisher sensors deployed in your company, if someone needs an extinguisher to put out a fire, you want to 'know' that the extinguisher is still in the right place, it has not been partially used and has had a timely inspection.
Air Quality accuracy and alerts are important, even more-so when it comes to Volatile gases. Solutions for personnel emergency need to be 100% reliable ... All of these and other enterprise needs require a very different approach.
Reliable Sensors
Sensors become a crucial part of a business or safety system. They must work, they need to be accurate and they must work every time. If they are battery operated, what is monitoring battery level? If there is a communication issue, what is monitoring that the sensor is always connected and ready?
A Dashboard that works
It's all well and good to have 'pretty' gauges, but if nobody is watching, they are useless. In an enterprise with hundreds or thousands of sensors, this becomes an impossibility. Our dashboard provides unique views of your data with 'heat-maps' that provide a visual guide as to what is happening at any of your locations. These views, along with the option of AI integration lead to intelligent decision-making and early intervention.
Wireless Communication
Communication between a sensor and it's hubs becomes a critical 'tether'. This requires highly reliable, long range and most importantly two-way communication. You can't have a scenario where a sensor is sending out critical data or an alert and it simply doesn't get all the way to the back-end.
Scalable
In an enterprise, systems need to be able to scale effectively. This scalability starts with wireless communication and ends with a server environment that is enterprise-grade. Imaginastix use AWS to deliver this scalability.
Where is everything?
It's one thing to deploy a whole lot of hubs and sensors, it's another to know where they are in your business. We take a unique approach to this and provides the ability to locate all of your devices on a map in our dashboard.
Ease of setup and maintenance
When you are rolling out significant numbers of sensors with a multitude of hubs over a variety of locations, deployment and maintenance become critical. Our solution includes a Smartphone app that allows you to easily configure any hub or sensor and deploy it in your network. Likewise, our web-based dashboard allows further maintenance of your system.
Over the air updates
As software is improved or new parameters need to be deployed to sensors, the ability to update these over the air become crucial. Our architecture supports both of these in a transparent fashion.
